COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AT EOROPIE DUNES PARK

Every year GAIN runs an exciting programme of activities for all ages - from the youngest to the oldest in our community!

These activities are designed to bring people together, to be active and have fun together!

Feedback from participants and volunteers (many of whom were young volunteers) demonstrated that they felt they were more confident, connected and that they had made a difference.

Check this space to see what fabulous activities are being planned:

Look out for info on an Easter Egg Hunt, Teddy Bears Picnic, BBQ and Duck race and, hopefully, Nature Days.

It's A Knock Out

It's A Knock Out!

Roots + Wings ReUnited Youth Group organised and ran this fun evening in Eoropie Dunes Park for the upper primary school children in September 2013. This is a picture of the participants before - some are dressed in black bin bags - as it was messy!! Lots of crazy challenges involving running around with buckets of water and climbing whilst being pelted with food and water bombs!! Everyone said they'd enjoyed the event - even those who didn't like getting messy enjoyed pelting others!

Fun Day at Lionel School

Fun Day

As the weather was very changable in September although we had planned a T in our Park Event it was changed to a FUN DAY using the local school - and we all certainly had fun. With new toys, games and a Toddle Waddle to get everyone moving as well as offering facepainting and refreshments. A good time was had by all!

Pirates and Princesses Fancy Dress Day with Treasure Hunt

On Saturday 27th July people of all ages came to the park, many in fancy dress for a Pirates and Princesses Day! It was great fun with Treasure Hunt, Games and all the new equipment to play on. Face painting and refreshments with tea/coffee/juice and home baking were also available!! Feedback on the day showed that everyone had a great time.....and the sun shone!!

Gala Day

GAIN with help from Roots+Wings ReUnited girls enjoyed the Gala Day where we ran various stalls - and raised almost £400 for park maintenance. Yeh! Good Days work!

Pilot Activities 2012

GAIN ran several successful Community Activities as a pilot with BIG Lottery Funds. These activities were designed to bring people together, to be active and have fun together!

Teddy Bears Picnic

TEDDY BEARS PICNIC

Saturday 28th April saw over 100 people at the park with their Teddys having a picnic and some Family Fun with face painting, laughter and games!

This was a fundraising event for the park and the GAIN committee are delighted that £185 was raised. This will be used to keep the park safe and well maintained.

GALA DAY

Over £500 was raised by 34 helpers, many of them young people at the Ness Gala Day. Thank you to everyone who helped out. Funds will be used for keeping the park safe.

Willow Workshop

50 hours of fun were spent by 8 participants planting Williow. Dawn Susan (Hebridean Baskets) taught us about different types of willow and helped us plant the willow in test beds and to make a living willow wall or fedge. It was hard work - but great fun!
